Modern Combat 5: Blackout is already one of the most popular first-person shooters available for iPhones and iPads, which means it should come as little to no surprise that Gameloft has taken its game and given it an Apple TV-colored lick of paint, with Apple’s new set-top box now listed as supported by Modern Combat 5: Blackout.
Already one of the best looking games available for newer iPads and iPhones, the thought of playing Modern Combat 5: Blackout on a big screen is one that crossed our minds when we found out that the App Store was finally going to come to the Apple TV. Now, Gameloft has made that a reality by adding Apple TV support to its existing iPhone and iPad game. All three are available as part of the same App Store download, which means that all three are free, which isn’t a bad price to pay for just about anything in this world.
When gamers do download the popular FPS game Modern Combat 5: Blackout, they’ll be able to take advantage of the Apple TV’s support for MFi controllers as well, which is a great news given the nature of the game at hand. Twitch shooters aren’t necessarily suited to touch-enabled inputs from the likes of Siri Remote, therefore a decent controller like the SteelSeries Gamepad Nimbus should see things much improved on the control front.
If you own the new Apple TV 4, now would be a good time to get your hands on one of those MFi controllers. The arrival of this popular FPS games on the Apple TV platform should be a good indication of what is to come from Apple’s reinvigorated set-top box.
2016 could be a big year for the new Apple TV.
You can download Modern Combat 5: Blackout for Apple TV 4 directly from tvOS App Store.
