Microsoft’s Chief Executive, Steve Ballmer, announced today that they managed to sell over 8 million Kinect units in just 60 days since launch. This figure of course has significantly outpaced the 5 million units the company had expected to sell in 2010.

Xbox & Kinect for Xbox 360
• 8 million: Number of Kinects sold in first 60 days
• 50 million: Xbox 360s sold to date
• 30 million: Number of Xbox LIVE members
Last month in the weekend of December 11th, it was speculated that Microsoft has managed to sell over 4 million Kinect units worldwide.
