It looks like Microsoft is set to launch a new multitouch capable mouse which will take advantage of touch gestures in Windows 7 to take on its Mac counterpart the Apple Magic Mouse. Microsoft enthusiast Long Zheng of iStartedSomething is reporting on this new upcoming product which according to him could be announced as soon as Tomorrow.
Based on the prototype shown last year, this multitouch mouse which is dubbed as “Arc Touch Mouse” is already showing up in inventory as “Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse” of different online retailers in Europe with the product code RVF-00003. In preparation to launch this new product, Microsoft has already registered the domain arctouchmouse.com (not live yet) which is currently redirecting to Bing as all “Microsoft placeholder sites do”.
When released, Arc Touch Mouse will no doubt be a must have accessory for all Windows 7 users as it will eliminate the need of getting those expensive multitouch-capable PCs and Tablets to take advantage of touch gestures support present in the operating system. Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is expected to retail at $70, which is almost exactly the same as Apple Magic Mouse. [via iStartedSomething]
