Market Enabler app for rooted Android phones enables access on the US Android Market with paid apps outside United States. Paid apps in Android Market are currently limited to selected countries like US. If you happen to be outside US, you are left out by Google which at the time only allows users from US and UK to access the paid app store.
Fortunately for the rest of us, Market Enabler brings paid apps access for all regions. Simply download the said app from here and then run this adb command in command prompt:
adb install MarketEnabler_v3.0.8.apk
You’ll need to first root your phone in order to install this app. Step by step rooting guide for Nexus One can be found here, for Motorola Droid/Milestone here and here, and for Motorola CLIQ here.
Once Market Enabler has been installed, simply tap “Enable Paid Apps” to get full access to the US Android Market with paid apps. [via Strazzere and Twitter]
