Only three days after releasing third beta of macOS 10.12.3, Apple has today dropped macOS Sierra 10.12.3 beta 4 to those developers who are registered on Apple Developer Program.
Carrying build number 16D30a compared to build number 16C48b of beta 3, macOS Sierra 10.12.3 beta 4 is available to download right now from Apple’s developer portal for all Macs compatible to run the latest version of Apple’s desktop operating system.
As is expected from a beta release of this nature, this latest seed of macOS 10.12.3 comes in with the usual purpose of fixing existing bugs and performance issues that have been identified with the release of previous three betas and the current public macOS 10.12.2 release. The release notes expectedly read that this build “improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.”
Beta 4 also carries on with some very important fixes found in beta 3, which includes ironing out issues with the latest MacBook Pro machines’ battery life owing to a Safari browser bug. With that said, Apple’s macOS beta releases are not surprising us anymore, but then again that’s not what Apple is looking for here.
Designed primarily for developers, there will be just enough changes under-the-hood for developers to sink their teeth into. Apple is very particular about the app experience that each of its platform offers, so allowing developers to test their apps with the the latest upcoming OS version and API changes is just part of making sure that macOS 10.12.3 is just about perfect upon a final and public release.
Also, now that beta 4 of macOS 10.12.3 is out, it is likely that we’ll see Apple roll out a public beta seed for those registered on the company’s Public Beta Program portal soon enough.
As always, the latest macOS 10.12.3 beta 4 is available to download and install immediately from the Mac App Store to those who are currently running a previous pre-release seed of macOS 10.12.3. For those new to this beta experience, they can get started by enrolling themselves in the Apple Developer Program by heading over to developer.apple.com.
