Apple released beta 2 of macOS Sequoia 15.1 over a week ago as it gets closer to being released to the public, and as part of that process, we have another look at what we can expect from this upcoming release.
The first beta of macOS Sequoia 15.1 already included support for FaceTime call backgrounds, but with beta 2 we get some new backgrounds that are based on Apple Park.
MacRumors reports that there are a total of nine new backgrounds that highlight Apple Park in all its glory, including some iconic shots that people will be familiar with. A shot showing the curvature of the building is one, while the famous rainbow arch is another.
These aren’t the only improvements coming to FaceTime this time out, however. FaceTime will gain a new preview ability so that people can see what they will share with other members of a FaceTime call when sharing their screen.
This is the second beta release of macOS Sequoia 15.1 and while Apple has yet to confirm exactly when the release will be made available to the public, we do expect that it will arrive before the end of this year.
The update will also bring with it support for Apple Intelligence for the first time, albeit in beta form. Apple Intelligence will also be available to owners of iPhones and iPads as part of the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 updates that are also expected to be released before the end of the year.
