Alongside iOS 18.2 beta 1, Apple has also released macOS 15.2 beta 1 and iPadOS 18.2 beta 1 for compatible Mac and iPad model.
Like iOS 18.2, these aforementioned updates also bring even more Apple Intelligence features that didn’t make the cut in first .1 release such as Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration, Image Wand, Visual Intelligence, even more Writing Tools, support for more languages (English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK in addition to U.S. English.) and more.
More importantly for developers, these new updates also include developer APIs for adding Writing Tools, Genmoji, and Image Playground features right into third-party apps in time for iOS 18.2 public release.
Keep in mind that if you’re already testing Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.1 betas and have opted in, you’ll automatically gain access to Writing Tools, ChatGPT integration, and Visual Intelligence. But for early access to Genmoji, Image Playground, and Image Wand, there’s a another waiting list. You can sign up for access within Image Playground or in the sections where Genmoji and Image Wand are available.
If you’re a registered member of Apple Developer Program portal, you can grab today’s updates from Settings > General > Software Update section of the device itself.
We will update you if we find more on today’s beta seeds. Stay tuned.
