M4 MacBook Pro, iMac, And Mac mini Still Tipped For 2024 Launch

Apple’s M4 chip debuted in the M4 iPad Pro earlier this year while there are currently no Macs available with the same chip inside.

However, that’s all going to change later this year with Apple expected to launch M4 versions of the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini before the end of 2024.

That’s according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in in his weekly Power On newsletter. Gurman says that Apple is working on new M4 versions of its entire Mac lineup.

The May launch of the M4 iPad Pro kickstarted the plans, and Apple is now expected to launch an M4 MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini within the next few months. From there, the M4 transition will continue with the launch of the new M4 MacBook Air, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio in 2025.

It’s believed that the new M4 chips will add improved AI processing to the Mac lineup with Apple Intelligence set to bring new AI-powered features to Mac users around the world.

The launch of the M4 iPad Pro showed what the chip can do but it will be interesting to see it being used in a Mac and powering Mac hardware. M4 Pro, Max, and Ultra versions of the chip will also launch with the arrival of new machines throughout the next 12 months, providing pro-level users with an upgrade over the current M3-series models.
