As part of Apple’s Free App of the Week initiative for iOS apps, today we are looking at a unique game called Lifeline: Whiteout, which usually retails for $2.99 on the App Store, but as is obvious, can be downloaded for free till Thursday.
Many iOS gamers would already be well familiar with the Lifeline series of games from 3 Minute Games. Lifeline: Whiteout carries the same text-based adventure theme which the Lifeline franchise is famous for, and provides the same real-time response and notifications mechanism that some of you may already be familiar with. This is also the first time Lifeline: Whiteout has completely dropped its price tag since it was first released.
But what’s the fuss about really? Imagine a friend stranded in a frozen tundra with the only communication being through text-based messaging. Your job? Help that stranded friend stay alive with valuable input and decision making to incoming queries.
Alone in a frozen wasteland with no memory of how he got there, a lost adventurer’s only hope is his last line of communication – to YOU! Guide him to safety and help him find his identity in this gripping story of survival. Your choices shape the story as you play!
The beauty of Lifeline: Whiteout, or the whole Lifeline range for that matter, is how the story pans out in real-time over the course of a few days. Every decision you make (or basically choose for the character V. Adams), will take the story through different twists.
This basically means that you can play the game all over again and end up facing different scenarios each time, which is simply fantastic for a mobile-based game. The thrill, and the wait of every decision to bear results over night evoke a true sense of excitement for the player, and it can often become a daunting task to chose the correct path, beause everything isn’t peachy in Lifeline: Whiteout.
So if you have never stepped into the world of Lifeline, the chance to grab Lifeline: Whiteout for free till next Thursday, as mentioned earlier, is not to be missed.
You can download the game right now for free from the App Store.
