LG Rumored To Be Building Three New Apple Displays

LG is reportedly developing as many as three new displays for Apple, with 24-inch, 27-inch, and 32-inch sizes all now being rumored.

The report comes via Twitter user @dylandkt, an account that has a relatively strong track record in terms of predicting product launches and features.

According to them, LG is now testing the three displays in unbranded enclosures — but it’s thought that the similar specification to the iMac and Pro Display XDR panels means that these are destined for Apple.

The 27-inch and 32-inch displays are thought to be mini-LED offerings with support for ProMotion, meaning 120Hz and variable refresh rate. The larger of the two is also thought to pack some sort of Apple chip inside, although it isn’t immediately clear what that will be capable of doing.

Based on current devices it would seem likely that the 24-inch and 27-inch screens will be used for iMac and iMac Pro machines, while that 32-inch display is likely to find its way into a new Pro Display XDR or a variation on that theme. We’ve heard many of these rumors before now, including the addition of an Apple A13 chip based on previous 9to5Mac reports.

Apple has recently been rumored to have a new 27-inch iMac Pro in the works, complete with 120Hz ProMotion support — again matching this latest Twitter thread from @dylandkt.
