Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max this coming September and if it does, one leaker claims that the new devices will have the thinnest bezels ever found on a smartphone, let alone an iPhone.
According to X leaker IceUniverse, Apple intends to shrink the bezels on the new Pro models beyond anything that has been seen on another smartphone to date.
This comes after Apple already shrunk the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and it appears that the company isn’t done yet.
As for how this is going to be done, it’s been rumored that Apple will use Border Reduction Structure, or BRS, technology that will bend the wiring and display circuitry down at the edges, reducing the amount of space that needs to be given to the component.
However, there have also been rumors that these plans have so far caused production issues for Apple and its supply chain partners. it remains to be seen whether this will cause supply issues for the new iPhones when they are announced later this year.
If Apple sticks to its own tried and tested release schedule we can expect it to announce the new iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max alongside the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus this coming September.
