Apple is set to announce as many as four new iPhones within the next few weeks and one of those will be the iPhone 12 Pro Max. But we don’t need to wait until it is announced to know at least a little bit about it – thanks to leaker Jon Prosser.
In new images shared by Prosser we get to see screenshots of what he describes as an iPhone 12 Pro Max PVT model. That means it’s an evaluation model and one that Apple and its suppliers are using to test out their mass manufacturing capabilities.
In turn, that also means that these are pretty much the finished iPhones. What we see here is very likely to be what we’re buying in the next few weeks.
The most important part here is the inclusion of a 120Hz display option. That’s something that may or may not make the final release with Apple reportedly still working on it. Prosser says that some of the test units don’t have the feature, so it’s likely Apple is still undecided itself. If it does make it to the final production iPhones, it looks like we can expect an option to force the higher refresh rate when needed or let iOS handle it automatically.
Apple’s use of a LiDAR Scanner also appears to be confirmed here, at least for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Another screenshot shows the options that enables, including enhanced noise reduction and an improved night mode capability.
We’ll be keeping our eyes open for more information to see what comes next – Apple is likely to announce this thing in the next few weeks.
