If you’ve ever been playing your PS5 and then found that your controller’s battery has gone flat, you aren’t the only one. The DualSense controller doesn’t last very long between charges, often failing after just three or four hours of game time.
But there could be a new option on the horizon, and it could change the battery life situation dramatically.
The new option is a lot like the old one because it’s an updated v2 version of Sony’s DualSense controller. This one looks and sounds like the one that everyone is so familiar with, but it has a big new feature — 12 hours of battery life.
Sony hasn’t officially confirmed that the new controller exists yet, but a listing on Best Buy Canada‘s website appears to have outed it ahead of time. Beyond the battery, everything else seems to be the same as the model that ships with the PS5 and can also be bought separately.
Take the gaming action into your own hands when you play with the PlayStation 5 V2 DualSense wireless controller. With dynamic triggers, a built-in microphone and so much more, this gaming controller offers a truly immersive experience. The iconic comfortable design lets you play for hours and hours.
With CES underway it’s possible that we could see Sony announce the new controller this week, and the fact that Best Buy has the details suggests that it probably won’t be long before we can buy a controller that lasts longer on a single charge. Here’s hoping for some new colors, too.
