The development scene within the iOS jailbreak community tends to be made up of two sets of developers. You have the ‘Rock Stars’ who everyone has heard of, and produce quality, popular tweaks which gain most of the attention. Then you have the developers who sit in the background, releasing small tweaks here and there which get a lot of downloads but very rarely get the developer any attention for it.
One developer who seems to sit in the middle of those two types is Lance Fetters, a.k.a. ashikase. He is well known around the community for his premium tweaks but is probably most well known to the iOS community as the developer of the Folder Enhancer tweak which replaces the native iOS folders, integrating additional options such as pages within folders and the ability to scroll either horizontally or vertically. Speaking personally, Folder Enhancer and Multi Icon Mover are two are my must have tweaks for any of my jailbroken devices.
One of his tweak that you might have heard of is LastApp, which has just been updated for iOS 5. It gives users the abilities to quickly switch back to the last active application via the use of a custom defined gesture. Like a large number of tweaks which are gesture compatible, LastApp makes use of Activator to allow users to specify the gesture they require for LastApp to function. If users have Backgrounder installed, they can optionally set the current application to background upon switching (unbackground via the normal background method). These options can enabled or disabled via the additional settings entry that is included after the installation of the LastApp extension.
LastApp is similar in functionality to the recently released Zephyr tweak by Grant Paul. Although Zephyr allows users to swipe between all apps in multi tasking switcher. LastApp is available free of charge via the Big Boss repository and is compatible with devices running iOS 3.0 and above.
