Apples upcoming iPhone 13 Pro will feature a new ultra-wide lens that will be capable of autofocus rather than being limited to a fixed focal length.
Thats according to a new report by MacRumors ased on an investor note written by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
According to Kuo, we can expect the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max to boast the new autofocus wide angle lens, offering an improved sharpness when people take shots using that particular camera.
Compared to the current fixed-focus lens on the ultra-wide camera on the iPhone 12 lineup, autofocus on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max will help deliver crisper and sharper images, regardless of the distance a specific subject is from the lens. Kuo has previously stated that the iPhone 13 will feature several other camera improvements, including improved low-light performance.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 13 lineup this coming September and is already ahead of schedule confirmed to last year’s COVID-19-hit iPhone 12 launch. Apple hasn’t yet confirmed the iPhone 13 launch, but previous years would suggest that we can expect an announcement towards the middle of September with devices going on sale the following week.
Beyond this year’s iPhones, Kuo also expects the same improvedment to come to all iPhone 14 models in 2022.
