There are tons of rumors relating to MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs rolling around the internet right now, but the latest come from a better source than most.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has a pretty good track record with these things and he’s out with a new research note that suggests Apple will release a new MacBook Pro this year. That device will also use a new mini-LED screen, he says.
According to the note, seen by 9to5Mac, the new MacBook Pro will come in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, both using the new mini-LED technology for their screens.
The analyst suggests that the company is ready to start production of the next generation MacBook Pro in the coming months, which will be available in a new 14-inch and 16-inch form-factor. According to Kuo, Apple has been investing in more Mini-LED display suppliers as it plans to adopt the technology in more products, including the new MacBook Pro.
Apple currently ships just one device with a mini-LED screen — the latest iPad Pro, and again only in the 12.9-inch screen size.

Kuo also says that we can expect a new MacBook Air with a new screen to arrive next year as well, bringing mini-LED to another corner of the Apple lineup. Both the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will ship with Apple silicon inside, although it isn’t yet known exactly which chips we will see.
