Kodi 21 Omega beta 1 APK for Android, and IPA for iOS, along with Windows and Mac versions have just been released for download. Here are the details.
When it comes to open source media software Kodi is normally at the top of the pile and the outfit has now announced that the very first beta release of Kodi 21 Omega is now available for download.
But while the download is now available, it’s important to remember that this is a big update and that early bugs are to be expected across the board.
In a blog post confirming the software’s release, the team behind Kodi notes that there are new features to be had, while it shouldn’t be expected to be plain sailing.
This is a major release, so, as you’d expect, it comes with many new features. However, with a core change to FFmpeg 6.0, there is a very good chance that some regressions may occur. As such, please be aware that installing this will most likely break things, and we’d really like your help at that point to identify the problems and get them fixed.
You can read the full list of changes over on the Kodi website, and there are plenty of them to take in. Those changes include a whole array of fixes to go with the new features, with some of the changes related to specific platforms rather than being generic improvements for all devices.
As ever, we’d suggest that anyone considering taking this Kodi 21 Omega beta for a spin should make sure to have everything backed up ahead of time. Bugs are to be expected, and make sure to report them to the Kodi team so that they can work on getting them fixed for future releases.
