Kodi 20.1 Nexus final APK for Android, IPA for iOS, along with Windows and Mac version has just been released for download.
The new update includes a number of bug fixes, but the developers behind the app say that the are “no real new features” in this release.
In other words, you’re most likely to get the most out of this new update if you’re suffering from a bug or problem right now.
If that’s you, be sure to check out the full changelog to see if your issue has been dealt with in this release. If it has, great! If not, perhaps consider reaching out to the people behind Kodi to make sure they’re aware of what’s wrong.
The number of fixes that have been applied is a long one, with tweaks to audio, DVD, filesystems, game/retroplayer, and more all included. There are improvements to specific platforms as well, with Android and Windows getting a callout there.
As this is a point release, there are no major changes since the previous version, and you should be fine to install this straight over the top of any existing Kodi 20.x installation – indeed, this will happen automatically on many platforms. However, as for all software installations, back up your userdata beforehand if you’ve any doubts or have anything you can’t afford to lose (and definitely do this if you’re going for a major version upgrade).
As always we’d suggest that you get your hands on this latest version of Kodi as soon as possible, but perhaps make sure that you have your data and settings backed up before you go through the update process. It never hurts to be sure that you’re covered just in case the unexpected comes to fruition.
