You can now download Kodi 20 Nexus final version in the form of Android APK along with iOS IPA and Windows, Mac versions.
Dubbed Nexus, the update is a notable upgrade over the previous version.
That previous version, version 19 Matrix, was first released in February of 2021 and there have been more than 4,600 commits to the project since then. The team behind the app say that this new update has “been a huge effort” and there are some notable features to drive that point home.
The announcement notes that multiple instances of binary add-ons are now supported, while AV1 video support ahs also been added to allow hardware decoding for the first time.
This allows Kodi to load multiple instances of a binary add-on. For example: TVHeadend users can now run more than one instance of the add-on to connect to multiple back-end TVHeadend servers, with individual settings like channel groups and hidden channels maintained per add-on instance.
Other improvements include full HDR support on Windows, as well as tweaks to how subtitles work.
The new Kodi 20.0 Nexus update can now be downloaded from kodi.tv/download and it is of course free. We’d always suggest that you make sure to have your data backed up before installing a big upgrade like this, so keep that in mind before hitting the big update button.
