Kanye West’s Presidential Team Calls The iPhone’s Clock “Notoriously Faulty”, Here’s Why

You know that iPhone clock that you rely on for getting you up in a morning, or telling you when dinner is ready? According to Kanye West’s presidential team, you probably shouldn’t be trusting it. See, it’s “notoriously faulty”. Haven’t you heard?

The hilarious anecdote came after West’s team dropped themselves in hot water after managing to submit his presidential campaign ballot too late. Only 14 seconds too late, but still, it was outside the 5 p.m. window that all candidates had been told they needed to meet. West’s team didn’t.

As the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel shares, that then led to all kinds of different claims – starting out with the fact that maybe 5 p.m. doesn’t actually mean 5 p.m.

“The statutory provision does not distinguish between minutes and seconds,” lawyer Michael Curran of Spring Green said in the filing. “For the average observer, arriving before 5:01 p.m. is arriving ‘not later’ than 5 p.m.

Not content with that approach, lawyers also disagreed with video showing West’s delegate entering the ballot building after the cut-off had already been and gone. That video means nothing, apparently, because it was filmed using an iPhone. And we all know that iPhones can’t keep time.

Curran dismisses a video and tweet by a WISN-TV (Channel 12) reporter that Ruhland and her assistant entered the building 18 seconds after 5 p.m. Curran also challenged a video by a Democratic Party staffer that suggested they arrived about 20 seconds after the deadline.

That video, Curran said, used an iPhone clock to track Ruhland’s entrance. Curran said such clocks are notoriously faulty.
