Jailbreak iOS 18.3.1 Status Update For iPhone And iPad Users

If you are looking to jailbreak iOS 18.3 on your iPhone or iPad and are wondering about the latest status update, you have come to the right place.

For those of you who are living under a rock and don’t remember, the last time a proper public jailbreak for iOS was released was back in August 2019 for iOS 12.4. This jailbreak, developed by security researcher Pwn20wnd, exploited a vulnerability that Apple had inadvertently reintroduced in iOS 12.4, allowing users to remove Apple’s restrictions and install unauthorized apps. Their tool dubbed unc0ver worked on all iPhone X and below devices.

Since then, we haven’t really seen a public jailbreak come to iOS for latest available devices. Sure, there have been instances when we got tools like checkra1n and others being developed for iOS 13.x but that only supported the same devices as unc0ver, meaning the latest devices remained out of luck.

Over the last few years, we have seen very few releases for jailbreaks, and even the growing Cydia and jailbreak tweaks community has slowed down a lot. While there are a lot of reasons for it, the primary reason seems to be because of Apple adding a lot of jailbreak tweaks as native features in iOS, and second being jailbreak developers being offered more money to share exploits with Apple and other third-parties then what they could make by releasing a free public jailbreak.

While this might sound depressing for future prospects of public jailbreaks, it’s important to note that not all is lost and like we have seen in the past many times, a new jailbreak can come out of nowhere and rejuvenate interest back in the jailbreak community. While the chances of that happening seems slim at this point, but we can never say never to it.

Of course if and when that happens, we will be back with full coverage on it here, complete with tutorials and info on newer jailbreak tweaks being available for it. Until then, just update to latest version of iOS to make sure you are safe from any security issues in iOS and wait patiently for things to change again for the good of jailbreak community.
