Looking to jailbreak iOS 17.5 final version on your iPhone or iPad? Here is the latest status update that you may need to know about.
Apple’s latest and greatest version of the iPhone software, iOS 17.5, is now available for download by anyone who wants to do that.
The update isn’t the biggest of the updates we have seen arrive in recent months or years, but it’s still an important one — especially if you’re in the EU and can make use of the ability to install apps via a developer’s website. But one question that always comes up when there’s a new software update is this — can iOS 17.5 be jailbroken?
Unfortunately, things haven’t looked good for jailbreakers for years now, and that isn’t going to change with the release of iOS 17.5.
Those with an iPhone X-era device are also out of luck because while those devices have been jailbroken at the boot ROM level and Apple cannot patch that, these devices are not compatible with iOS 17.5— meaning everyone is unfortunately out of luck.
However, things can and often do change so there is no guarantee that a future version of iOS won’t be jailbroken. Thankfully, jailbreaking isn’t as vital as it once was, but for those who enjoy being able to install apps that wouldn’t normally be allowed into the App Store, it’s always going to be a key factor.
