If you are looking to jailbreak iOS 17.2.1 on iPhone, here’s what you need to know about latest status update on jailbreak situation.
Apple’s latest iOS 17.2.1 update is now available for download and while the update brings with it little more than bug fixes, it’s still a release that people are likely to want to download — here’s the state of play if you want to do that but also have an eye on jailbreaking.
It’s a fact that jailbreaking isn’t as popular as it was in the early days of the iPhone but there are still plenty of people who would jailbreak if they could.
Unfortunately, that’s becoming more and more difficult and the situation hasn’t really changed with the release of iOS 17.2.1.
The reason for that is that anyone using an older iPhone that supports a bootrom-based jailbreak like the iPhone X can’t download the iOS 17.2.1 update, or indeed any of the iOS 17 releases. That means that this is all a moot point for those iPhone owners, because they couldn’t install the software even if they were willing to give up their jailbreak.
As for the iPhones that do support iOS 17.2.1, they can’t be jailbroken and there is little to suggest that is going to change any time soon. It might, but it doesn’t seem likely and Apple has done a good job of late ensuring that its software is as tight as a drum with no jailbreakable loopholes.
With that all being said, we’d suggest installing iOS 17.2.1 on all devices that support it just to make sure you’re using the latest features, bug fixes, and security updates.
