If you are looking to jailbreak iOS 17.0.2 on your iPhone or iPadOS 17.0.2 on your iPad, here’s latest status update that you may want to know about.
As you may know already, Apple has released version v17.0.2 firmware for its entire iPhone and iPad lineup which is compatible with iOS 17.
As far as jailbreak situation goes, there hasn’t been a new jailbreak released for iOS in a long, time now, be it software or hardware based.
The last hardware-based jailbreak was on bootrom-based checkra1n exploit for A10 and below devices, which wasn’t patchable by iOS firmware updates, but since Apple killed A10 bionic support with iOS 17, which means that devices like iPhone X didn’t get the new firmware, this sadly meant that checkra1n was no longer useful for iOS 17 running devices.
So unfortunately, there is currently no new jailbreak release on the horizon for iOS 17-based devices, be it newer devices or older ones. If you value your jailbreak and are currently on an older jailbreak-friendly firmware, we recommend you stay on that firmware for now.
But if you’re someone who likes trying out new features and changes that Apple has introduced with iOS 17 release, you may update to it as Apple has added tons of features to it along with many security patches as well which are very important to safely use the device in 2023.
If there is any change in state of iOS 17 jailbreak, we will of course let you know. Just stay tuned to us for the latest on this front.
