If you want to jailbreak iOS 17.0.1 or iPadOS 17.0.1, here’s the latest status update you need to know before you do anything with your iPhone’s software.
Apple has now released iOS 17.0.1, a new bug and security fix release that arrived just a handful of days after it also released iOS 17.0 to the world. It doesn’t have any new features but is instead designed to ensure that iPhones remain secure and as bug-free as possible.
But as far as jailbreaking is concerned, the situation hasn’t changed. Unlike previous versions of iOS that could be jailbroken on older devices like the iPhone X, that’s a no-go here.
The iOS 17 and subsequent iOS 17.0.1 updates don’t support any of those A10-powered iPhones which means that they simply aren’t part of the conversation. Those users will still be able to jailbreak their existing iOS 16 update, however.
There are no jailbreaks that have been made available (so far) that work with iOS 17 and later, including iOS 17.0.1. That means that you’re going to have to come to terms with the fact that jailbreaking simply isn’t possible with iOS 17.0.1 and it’s unlikely that will change for now. Things could change with future jailbreaks but right now the scene doesn’t seem to be as strong as it once was.
If you’re using an iOS 17-capable device we’d suggest upgrading to iOS 17.0.1 as well given the bug and security fixes involved.
