If you want to jailbreak iOS 16.3 on iPhone or iPad, here’s what you need to know regarding its latest status update.
Apple has now released iOS 16.3 to the public after a relatively short beta program, but should you install if it you want to jailbreak later? As ever, that’s a fairly simple question to answer.
That answer will depend on what you’re using, though. If you’re using an older iPhone like an iPhone 8 or iPhone X, we already know that you’re good to go thanks to latest Palera1n jailbreak tool. Those iPhones are jailbroken at the bootrom level which means that Apple can’t patch the exploit that’s being used.
You’re good to go, although you might need to wait for your jailbreak tool of choice to be updated to add support for this specific release.
If you’re using a modern iPhone, you’re in for a world of hurt. As of now, modern iPhones like the iPhone 14 can’t be jailbroken and that’s as simple as that. But, things can change fairly quickly in the world of jailbreaking so never say never. Who’s to say whether a jailbreak will be released in the future?
As for the iOS 16.3 update itself, it doesn’t really add any big new features although it does enable the option to use physical security keys when securing your Apple ID.
