Are you looking to jailbreak iOS 15.5 on your iPhone or iPad? Here’s the latest status update on what you need to know regarding iOS 15.5 jailbreak before you update!
Apple has now made iOS 15.5 and iPadOS 15.5 available to the world which means jailbreak fans are probably all asking the same question — can this version of the software be jailbroken?
As ever, that’s a question that will depend on what devices you’re using — and it isn’t always good news.
If you’re using an iPhone X or older, for example, you’re good to go. Those devices have been jailbroken at the bootrom level which means that Apple cannot patch the exploit out via software updates. So long as Apple makes its new iOS releases compatible with that hardware, you’re good to install it and then jailbreak it.
Things aren’t so positive if you’re using a more modern device, however. Those with the recent iPhone 13 are out of luck completely, for example. A new jailbreak could be released in the future, but it hasn’t happened yet. Never say never, but it seems unlikely right now.
That might not be the news you were looking for but as Apple continues to improve its software and add features that were once only available via jailbreaking, the need to hack iPhones and iPads diminishes. Jailbreaking might come back one day, but for now, you’re probably just better updating and calling it a day.
If you’re really set on waiting for a jailbreak, however, staying clear of future updates is probably the way to go. Not that we’d recommend it.
