It’s Glowtime: Apple’s iPhone 16 Event Date Officially Announced

Apple has today announced the official unveiling date for the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro lineups, an event that will also likely see the company announce new Apple Watches.

Apple’s event announcement carries the “It’s Glowtime” text, with an Apple logo that suggests that Apple Intelligence and Siri could well be key parts of the unveiling. Apple invited people to stream the event at 10:00 PT on September 9.

The event is expected to involve the launch of the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro Max while there is also an expectation that the Apple Watch X will be shown off for the first time, too.

We can also expect that Apple will debut the third-gen Apple Watch Ultra while rumors also hinted that two new pairs of AirPods will premiere at the same time.

Little is known about the new Apple Watches, but the new iPhones are all expected to sport the iPhone 15 Pro’s Action Button while a new Capture button is also tipped based on leaks and rumors over the last few months. The new phones are also expected to offer A18 chips to allow them to offer Apple Intelligence, too.

People will be able to watch the event live on Apple’s website as well as the company’s YouTube channel, while the Apple TV app will also offer a way for people to watch on the big screen.
