Here’s iPhone X Vs iPhone 8 Vs iPhone 8 Plus Vs iPhone 7 Vs iPhone 7 Plus specs comparison side-by-side in full detail.
Now that Apple has announced its 2017 iPhone lineup, it’s time for consumers who are in the market for a new smartphone to actually start considering which device they want to own. To help, here’s a detailed specs comparison of the iPhone X vs iPhone 8 / 8 Plus vs iPhone 7 / 7 Plus to help you make the right decision.
Anyone with a keen interest in Apple announcements will already be well aware that the Cupertino-based company used its recent media event to announce the 2017 iPhone lineup. That announcement means that in addition to the last year’s flagship, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, we now have iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X to look forward to in the coming weeks. Great news for anyone looking for a new device or who is due to upgrade, but it brings its own problems from a decision making process. As a consumer, do you opt for a cheaper iPhone 7 / 7 Plus, the more expensive iPhone 8 / 8 Plus, or the all-singing all-dancing iPhone X. Which adds more cost into the equation?
As you may already know, Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have been around for twelve months now, which means that consumers know exactly what they are going to get. The relatively small bump up to iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus offers a device which is very similar to the current flagship in most ways, but with a few changes. As an example, the iPhone 8 range comes with a redesigned glass back for allowing wireless charging with the relevant accessories. There’s also the integration of Apple’s new A11 Bionic SoC which is designed by Apple in California and manufactured by TSMC. Those changes will also mean that the hardware will come with a slightly thicker body but much faster performance.
With that said, everything changes with iPhone X. The device comes equipped with a 5.8-inch bezel-less OLED display, which makes it Apple’s first smartphone to embrace OLED display technology. The same faster and more performant A11 Bionic chipset is included, as is the body manufactured from glass to give it a whole new design with wireless charging capabilities. The aforementioned display is a stunning edge-to-edge solution which makes use of the space vacated by the removal of the Home / Touch ID button. There’s also game-changing advanced 3D facial recognition tech called Face ID, and an improved dual-lens in vertical orientation 4K 60fps-capable camera on the rear for augmented reality and other purposes.

If the cost of hardware is your main criteria, and you don’t really care about a nominal performance increase or wireless charging in 8 or 8 Plus, then iPhone 7 / 7 Plus is likely the device of choice for you.
If you don’t mind parting with a little bit more money though, the iPhone X is surely worth considering. As a tenth-generation model to celebrate tenth anniversary of the iPhone, it is by far the biggest leap for iPhone both in terms of design and technology.
