With Apple expected to announce the iPhone 6 within a matter of weeks it’s obvious that the final hardware is locked in and that the phone is currently in the same configuration as the handsets we’ll be picking up at stores towards the end of September. We’ve seen plenty of leaks surrounding both the front and rear panels of the iPhone 6, as well as various different parts of its innards, so there’s little to truly come as a surprise this time around.
So you’d think that seeing new leaked photos would be less than awe-inspiring, but that’s not the case now that we’ve been given our first real glimpse of those two panels married together, with new photographs now giving us the clearest look yet at what Apple will be unveiling at its September keynote.
The images come courtesy of luxury iPhone vendor Feld & Volk, and while they’ve plastered a giant watermark across them there’s still plenty to see here. The pill-shaped volume buttons and repositioned sleep/wake button are in attendance, but what really catches the eye for us is the way the screen blends in so nicely with the new, curved shell. In fact, it’s so well put together that it’s easy to forget that these parts are in an unfinished state, which just means that the final, fully quality controlled handsets will look even better.
The assembled rear and front shells show that the iPhone 6 will indeed look more like the current iPod touches and iPads than previous models – a fact borne out by those curved edges if nothing else. A smoother looking phone than the angular iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, we’re rather taken with what Apple has done this year, and we’re sure buyers will be too.
September 9th is the (unofficial) date when Apple would be announcing the new iPhone 6, and with a matter of few more weeks to go, we’re expecting the media event invites to fly into the journalist’s domain in a matter of days. And as before, we’ll also be covering the event to the fullest, bringing you everything which Apple announces on the big day, so tuned to our round the clock coverage!
