Android 2.2 aka Froyo is without a doubt the best version of Android OS that we have seen yet! But so is the iPhone 4 and iOS 4 for Apple. The main thing which everyone was interested to find out was about the speed of the browser which Google (at I/O 2010) claimed to be the fastest amongst any of the mobile web browsers available on any platform today.
Contrary to what we saw earlier with a pre-release version of both iOS 4 and Android 2.2, it looks like the final version of Android 2.2 has enabled Google and Android to one-up Apple and iPhones by providing the fastest mobile browser on any platform yet!
In a test carried out by Ars Technica, Android 2.2 Froyo running on Nexus One came out on top by a long shot in a web browser speed test with iPhone 4 running iOS 4. JavaScript performance benchmarks can be seen in the image attached below.
Though Video tests (shown below) by Engadget suggests that “this is far from the massive performance jump that Ars Technica’s benchmarks” have shown.

We will be doing a video of our own of a similar test soon. Stay tuned for that! [via Ars Technica, Engadget]
