iPhone 17 Air And Pro Dummy Units Show How Incredibly Thin The Air Is

Apple is rumored to be readying the iPhone 17 Air for release later this year, and a new image appears to show just where it will get that name from.

A photo, shared by leaker Majin Bu, appears to show an iPhone 17 Air dummy unit alongside that of an iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be just 5.5mm thick compared to the iPhone 17 Pro’s 8.73mm. That difference is hard to visualize, but the image shared by Bu gives a good idea of what buyers can look forward to later this year.

The image shows the iPhone 17 Air to be incredibly thin, around half the thickness of the iPhone 17 Pro, and easily the thinnest iPhone to date. If there was ever any doubt about whether the iPhone 17 Air would be worthy of its name, that should now be over.

If the rumors are true the iPhone 17 Air will be the first of its kind and sport a single 48-megapixel camera as well as a 6.6-inch display. It’s thought that this could be the phone that replaces the iPhone 16 Plus in the lineup, but none of this has been confirmed by Apple as yet.

If Apple sticks to its previous release patterns we can expect that the entire iPhone 17 lineup will be announced this coming September and it’s likely there will be more leaks before then.
