iPhone 16 / Pro Max Accessories: Apple Silicon & Beats Cases, FineWoven Case Discontinued With No Alternative, MagSafe Wallet Lives

Apple’s big iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro unveiling has now happened and there are some new cases to go with the new phones. But there are some changes to the lineup including the removal of the FineWoven selection.

The FineWoven cases replaced Apple’s leather cases when the iPhone 15 launched a year ago but they were immediately plagued by complaints that they were poor quality and didn’t stand the test of time.

Apple has now ditched the material but will offer new silicone and plastic cases instead.

However, this doesn’t mean that FineWoven is gone for good — there are still versions of the MagSafe Wallet and AirTag Key Ring available to buy with the FineWoven design.

With the FineWoven cases gone, Apple’s Beats brand has announced its first iPhone cases. The new cases are available for the iPhone 16 models and feature MagSafe and Camera Control button support.

Available in Midnight Black, Summit Stone, Riptide Blue, and Sunset Purple, the cases appear to have a microfiber lining that should ensure they keep the iPhone scratch-free during use.

“We’re delighted to introduce the first iPhone case designed by Beats,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and Beats. “Beats has always been synonymous with distinctive style and vibrant colors and our new cases are the perfect way to accessorize the new iPhone 16 lineup.”

The new cases cost $49 and are available for order starting today. As for the new iPhones, they’ll be available for preorder starting September 13 before being released to the public on September 20.
