iPhone 16, New Apple Watches, And Refreshed AirPods Will Debut September 10

Apple has long been expected to hold a media event in September that would see the company announce new iPhones and Apple Watches. Now, a new report claims to know exactly when that will take place. And new AirPods will be along for the ride, too.

According to a Bloomberg report, penned by in-the-known Mark Gurman, Apple will announce the new devices during and event that will be held on September 10.

The unveiling will see Apple announce the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro handsets while rumored Apple Watch Series X and Apple Watch Ultra 3 wearables are also likely to be announced at the same time. Gurman also believes that Apple will announce the refreshed AirPods as well, with two different AirPods 4 models on the horizon.

Though the timing hasn’t yet been announced, the company is making preparations for that date, which falls on a Tuesday, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private. The unveiling will be followed by the phones going on sale Sept. 20, in line with Apple’s typical approach in recent years.

Later this year Apple is also expected to announce new M4-powered Macs for the first time, although the entire lineup will not transition away from M3 silicon until 2025, reports have so far claimed.

If the September 10 event date is correct, we can likely expect Apple to release iOS 18 and the rest of its big 2024 software updates a few days later.
