Apple is set to hold an event on September 9 that will see the company officially take the wraps off of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, but we don’t yet know when the devices will officially go on sale. Or do we?
While Apple won’t officially confirm when its new iPhones will reach stores until that September 9 event, the company might have just dropped a huge hint that gives us a good idea of when we should expect sales to begin.
Apple has confirmed that it is opening a new retail store at the Mall of Scandinavia near Stockholm in Sweden on Friday, September 20.
That date would tie in well with expectations given the September 9 event date, allowing Apple to begin the preorder process on September 13 before sales begin a week later. This would closely follow a pattern that we’re familiar with from recent years, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation before we can be absolutely sure.
If the September 20 date is accurate, that means that the new Apple Store will be in for a big day. Apple is set to make the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max available for sale for the first time.
It’s also expected that the Apple Watch X and a refreshed version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will also launch at the same time, too.
