Apple announced the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series’ of devices during the September 12 Wonderlust event, and we’re still learning all kinds of things about the new models. Take the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, for example, with the news that both models come with a whopping 8GB of RAM.
The news comes after software researcher @aaronp613, who normally posts to the X social network, shared the details with MacRumors.
However, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have 8GB of RAM, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus still have the same 6GB as last year’s models.
In the Xcode 15 Release Candidate made available today, there are files confirming that the lower-end iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are equipped with 6GB of RAM, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max each have 8GB of RAM. This information was obtained with assistance from software code researcher @aaronp613.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max both also sport the A17 Pro chip, allowing for improved performance. That’s especially the case in games, with Apple showing off console-quality titles during its announcement event.
The new iPhones are all going to be available for preorder starting on September 15, with the new handsets than going up for sale on September 22. The Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, both also announced during the Wonderlust event, will go on sale on the same date and are already available for preorder today.
