Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 lineup will get improved RAM, according to a new report.
The current iPhone 14 Pro models have 6GB, although that doesn’t seem to be holding them back in terms of performance. Now it seems likely that the iPhone 15 Pro models will increase that to 8GB.
A new TrendForce report claims that Apple will increase the RAM capacity and specifications for the new iPhone 15 models, with the iPhone 15 Pro specifically set to benefit from more RAM than any other iPhone to date.
The TrendForce wording isn’t specifically clear on which iPhone 15 models will see a capacity increase, but it seems most likely that it will be the Pro models. The outfit had previously pointed to 8GB for future Pro models, too.
Now, in 2023, smartphone brands’ efforts to reduce their stockpiles are gradually yielding a positive result. Furthermore, Apple will bump up the capacity and specifications of the DRAM solutions featured in the next generation of the iPhone that is scheduled for release this year.
While the iPhone 15 models aren’t likely to get more RAM, they should at least get faster RAM compared to the iPhone 14 models thanks to the use of LPDDR5 technology.
The iPhone 15 Pro models are also expected to get a new, faster chip in the form of the A17 Bionic which will surely make them the best iPhones to date. If everything goes the way we expect, Apple will announce all four new iPhones in September.
