According to a leaker Yyeux1122 on Naver, Apple is likely considering to curtail the price of 2023’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
It is no mystery that Apple has had trouble getting people to adopt the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus phones with customers not feeling the move from an iPhone 13 to these base models as much of an upgrade.
The Pro models however are a different story altogether in how the offer a completely different experience over the iPhone 13 lineup. The Dynamic Island, the Always On display, a much better camera experience, and much more. Paying a little over $200 for the iPhone 14 Pro over the iPhone 14 Plus, is something most people have been considering.
With Apple having already cut down iPhone 14 Plus production citing lack of demand, the leaked report (translated) states that the Mac-maker is “Strongly consider reducing the difference between the Pro model and the base model to less than 14”, and how features like the Dynamic Island are more than likely to find place in the iPhone 15 base models as well.
According to the leaker Apple “The iPhone 14 Plus is in a serious situation, and the biggest problem is the price The Plus position of the 15 series is likely to be priced differently than it is now”.
Yyeux1122 has had a decent record with his claims in the past, but given how Apple’s iPhone 14 Plus launch was more of a setback, contradictory to the very high hopes which Apple had with the device, the idea of price cuts for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus for more adoptability could be on the cards.
