The iPhone 14 Plus appears to be more popular than the iPhone 13 mini that it replaced in Apple’s lineup, according to a new report.
The iPhone 13 mini was the last 5.4-inch iPhone and was replaced by the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus, the first model of that size that wasn’t a Pro Max.
That division seems to have worked well for Apple after two years of what were believed to be poor sales for the mini model.
That’s according to a report by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) which claims that iPhone panel shipments from June 22 through April 2023 point to a big leap in sales for the newer model. In fact, shipments of the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus are thought to be 59% higher than they were for the iPhone 13 mini from the same period a year prior.
That’s particularly interesting given the repeated claims that the iPhone 14 Plus is the least popular of the four iPhone 14 models. And well it might be, but it seems that it’s been well received when compared to the model that it replaced.
As for those other models, it’s been reported that the iPhone 14 Pro Max accounts for 36% of all shipments for the series of devices. The iPhone 14 Pro makes up 28% while the iPhone 14 comes in at 25%. The iPhone 14 Plus by comparison sits in last spot with an 11% share of shipments.
