Apple is rumored to be getting ready to skip the iPhone 11s name completely, and now Barclays has shared a new research note that claims the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature 6GB of RAM. That’s an increase on the 4GB of RAM that is used in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
According to the report which was picked up by MacRumors and put together after Barclays analysts visited supply chain sources in Asia, the iPhone 12 will instead use 4GB of RAM.
All three models are expected to offer 5G modems however, with at least the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro possessing mmWave technology that will enable super fast 5G data transfers.
Barclays hasn’t only been speaking about the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, though. The heavily-rumored iPhone SE 2 also saw some attention, with supply chain sources apparently leading the analysts to believe that mass production of the phone will start as soon as February 2020.
That, in turn, would allow Apple to announce the phone in March 2020. We’ve previously heard rumors from other analysts that claimed a March timeframe for a new iPhone SE announcement, so this may be further proof of that.
Apple won’t announce the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 Pro Max until September time next year, but an iPhone SE 2 announcement in March could break things up nicely. We’ll be waiting to see if there’s any fire beneath the smoke this time.
