The talk of a larger, so-called ‘iPad Pro’ has remained incessant for a number of months now, and along with a fourth-gen Apple TV, is rumored to be arriving at some point this year. With a display size said to be larger than that of the new 12-inch MacBook Air, it would comfortably dwarf the 9.7-inch panel of the iPad Air 2, but while the rumor mill continues to churn out new information, there’s still very little by way of concrete evidence. A new video looks at two purported iPad Pro cases up against the iPad Air 2, offering a gauge on its size in comparison to the current flagship, and if you’ve been keeping an eye out for Apple’s more sizeable slate, you can catch the clip along with further details below.
As you will notice in Unbox Therapy’s video, the casings suggest a tablet that will compete with other professionally-aimed devices like the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and throughout the clip, give the iPad Air 2 a taste of what it would be like to live life as an iPad mini.
The last we heard, the iPad Pro will offer a display in the region of 12.3 to 12.9 inches, and while there’s been very little plausible intel on hardware specs, we anticipate that a very strong under-the-hood ensemble will be required to power such a huge advice. Whether we’re talking about Intel Core chips or bolstered versions of Apple’s mobile SoCs is unclear — as are most of the key details regarding the iPad Pro — but if it is to hit the market this year, we’ll surely hear more about it in the very near future.
The fall tends to be Apple’s tablet release period, so it’d be rather in hope than expectation if we were to look ahead for a possible announcement at WWDC in June, but with cases being produced plentifully, it would also be presumptuous to rule anything out.
Should we get wind of any further info pertaining to the iPad Pro, we’ll have it covered here at RP, and in the meantime, Unbox Therapy’s video offers visual take on what we can expect with respect to form factor:
