In terms of pricing, Apple’s product line-up is inaccessible to many, and in particular, students. Beset by fees and general student debt, the purchase of a product like the iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display is largely out of the question, and as such, Apple frequently offers discounts to those studying in university or college. Apparently, those two aforementioned slates are now subject to the Cupertino’s special education pricing structure, with prices starting at $469 for the iPad Air and $379 for the Retina iPad mini.
Given how the iPad Air starts at $499 and the Retina mini retails at $399, these savings are by no means ground-breaking, but if these newer devices don’t meet the limited nature of your particular budget, there are plenty of education pricing deals on older, cheaper models.
The original iPad mini, as well as the 4th-gen iPad, can be had at a discounted rate, and with refurbished versions of the iPad 2 and other antiquated models still knocking around, you’ll surely find a suitable Apple slate to supplement your educational experience.
For some students, an OS X-based machine like the MacBook may be more suitable, and as such, Apple also offers significant discounts on most of its broad computing range. Again, you’re still going to be paying quite a significant wad in comparison to what you might be able to get from a rivaling vendor, but given the general longevity of Apple products, you may see a touch of extra value in going Mac.
Additionally, MacBooks and iPads tend to hold their value much better, so when your education has finished and you decide to sell up, you’re likely to see a far better return on that original investment.
At this point in time, the new education prices for the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display have gone live, and you can check out all the deals on offer by pointing your Web browser to the following link: store.apple.com/us-hed
Keep in mind, this offer is not available to everyone; you must be a student, faculty member, an employee of a K-12 school or a parent of a student who is currently in a higher education institution.
Will you be taking advantage of the $30 saving on the iPad Air or the $20 off the cost of the iPad mini with Retina display?
