Hey, prototypes have to be tested somewhere, right? According to a Reuters eyewitness, the next generation iPad was spied at today’s News Corp announcement of The Daily.
The witness claims to have seen a front facing camera-endowed iPad at the event, while another source confirmed its existence to the news outlet.
At this moment it’s almost common knowledge that the upcoming, and yet unannounced, iPad 2 will sport at least one camera, possibly two so it’s entirely possible this sighting is legit. Of course it’s also possible it isn’t, we are in silly season after all!
With an announcement expected any day now, it’s certainly possible, indeed probable that hardware is out and about already. The question is would anyone be daft enough to take it to an event filled with journalists with high powered cameras? Of course we all thought nobody would be daft enough to leave a prototype phone in a bar, and we all know that story!
Unsurprisingly both Apple and News Corp declined to comment on the matter.
