I’ve said before now that we are firmly into ‘silly season’. With both iPhone and iPad updates expected to be announced in the coming months, this is the time we start to get all those juicy rumors about specifications, prices and possible release dates. Today we have some more, thanks to Macotakara (via MacRumors).
This time around the Japanese news blog believes Apple plans to hold a news event near the end of February to announce the iPad 2. They go on to say the hardware will ship in the following month, March.
That’s about all they say, and as MacRumors points out, there’s neither a real reason to believe, nor disbelieve the report at this point. The time scale seems reasonable and it’s no secret Apple is working on a next generation tablet, probably sporting at least one camera and with upgraded internals.
If Macotakara’s claims are accurate however, we won’t have long to wait until we get to see the iPad 2 in the flesh, and now’s the time to start saving those pennies!
