iOS 7 Beta Lock Screen Bug Lets Anyone Access Photos, And It’s Super Easy To Replicate! [VIDEO]

iOS 7 lock screen iPhone

The iOS 7 beta has only been out for two days, and already, the first major bug has been revealed. Jose Rodriguez, a 36 year old iPhone owner from Tenerife, has found a rather easy way to bypass the lock screen on iOS 7 beta 1 and meddle with the photos. Although bugs are expected in such an early and apparently unstable release, this revelation will no doubt send a chill down the spine of those in Cupertino, to whom this kind of issue is all too familiar.

The video, as you will see below, demonstrates just how easily Mr. Rodriguez manages to bypass the lock screen wall via all-new Control Center feature. By opening Control Center – a new feature that finally kills off the need for the popular jailbreak tweak SBSettings – is one of the better new features to have been announced on Monday. But by opening it up and then navigating through to the Calculator app and finally the Camera, Rodriguez – and potentially anybody – could access photos; deleting, emailing and tweeting them without prior knowledge of the passcode.

Several individuals have already replicated the process, and one has to hope that when the GM release is wrapped up and ready to ship to the masses, this kind of issue doesn’t manifest itself one more.

Apple experienced several such issues with iOS 6, to the point where the fruit company released two impromptu updates to fix iOS 6.1.x bugs and in doing so, completely ignoring the Evasi0n jailbreak.

Still, it would be a little harsh to berate Apple on a beta, and it’s surely better that these kinks are sourced and ironed out now, while only developers are trying out the new software. With that said, this is a slight setback, and those considering jumping on the beta may now wish to hold off for a couple of weeks until stability has been established.

Those who’ve tried iOS 7 beta have quite clearly stated that it is very much the archetypal beta, and so we would encourage anybody in favor of running a seamless OS to stick with the much more refined iOS 6 for the time being. With its shimmering, vibrant colors and flatness throughout, iOS 7 beta is certainly very cajoling, but unless you have substantial nous or a spare device knocking about, you’ll enjoy a much more stable iOS experience if you exercise a little patience.
