Recent reports have suggested that Apple intends to bring some big design changes to the iPhone with the release of iOS 19 later this year, and now a new leak claims to have shown us what that will look like.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently shared that Apple has plans to release an iOS 19 update with a refreshed look and feel that will be more akin to the visionOS software that powers the Apple Vision Pro.
Now, YouTuber Jon Prosser has shared a screenshot of what is said to be the Messages app running on an iOS 19 device.
The screenshot shows a familiar Messages app with some design tweaks, including new, rounded glossy buttons as well as an updated keyboard that appears to be more rounded towards the top. However, it’s important to remember that Apple has not yet confirmed this redesign. In fact, Mark Gurman has since suggested that this screenshot is not accurate.
iOS 19 images floating around aren’t representative of what we’ll see at WWDC. They look to be based on either very old builds or vague descriptions, missing key features. Expect more from Apple in June. Regardless, mockups – real or not – are always exciting for Apple watchers.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long before we get to see what iOS 19 has to offer for ourselves. Apple has announced that WWDC 2025 will be held from June 9, and it’s like that it will unveil iOS 19 at that time. We also expect that the first beta of iOS 19 will be made available to developers on that date, too. The final release to the public is unlikely to happen until September, though.
