iOS 19 Revamped Siri And Additional New Features Will Be Delayed Till 2026

Most of us are still busy exploring the features in iOS 18, but the buzz for iOS 19 is already building.

While the software isn’t expected to debut until June 2025, one major feature has leaked early: a revamped, more conversational Siri.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Siri will receive a significant upgrade powered by advanced large language models. This enhancement aims to make Siri more like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, capable of handling more complex and nuanced requests.

Gurman suggests the feature will be unveiled at WWDC 2025, but users won’t get their hands on it until spring 2026 with the iOS 19.4 update.

Interestingly, Gurman also mentioned that a larger-than-usual number of features planned for iOS 19 have already been postponed to the same spring 2026 update. While details about these postponed features remain under wraps, it seems Apple is pacing its rollout of major updates.

Meanwhile, Apple isn’t leaving users empty-handed. iOS 18.2, set for release in December 2024, will add ChatGPT integration to Siri, with plans for Google Gemini integration in a later update. By iOS 18.4, Siri will gain on-screen awareness and more app-specific controls, but it will still fall short of full conversational capabilities.

Once Siri’s overhaul arrives with iOS 19.4, Apple users may finally reduce their reliance on third-party AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. However, with over a year and a half to wait, patience will be key.
