Apple’s upcoming iOS 18.4.1 update might fix CarPlay connectivity issue that some users are experiencing on iOS 18.4. Here are the details on it.
Whenever Apple releases a new software update, there are some people who have issues, and the iOS 18.4 iPhone software is no different. Following its release earlier this week, some people are reporting new CarPlay issues.
People have taken to Reddit and elsewhere to report issues relating to a variety of things. The biggest seems to affect vehicles that support CarPlay instrument cluster integration.
According to reports, CarPlay no longer shows the currently playing song in the instrument panel.
The instrument cluster bugs have been reported across numerous vehicle models including the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid, 2025 Mazda CX-30, various 2024 Honda models, multiple Volkswagen vehicles, the 2023 Audi S3, and the 2023 Nissan Frontier.
Others report that their iPhone no longer launches CarPlay properly when they connect to their car, while others say that Siri no longer functions as expected.
While the issues do seem to be attributable to the iOS 18.4 update, Apple has yet to comment on what’s going on. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t aware of an issue, however, and it’s possible that a new iOS update, like iOS 18.4.1, will be released to address the problems in due course.
Beyond iOS 18.4, Apple is working on iOS 19 ahead of its expected developer beta release in June. The software is then likely to be released to the public in September.
