iOS 18.2 Siri Now Tells You What’s On Your Screen With ChatGPT Integration

iOS 18.2 now lets you ask Siri what’s on your iPhone or iPad’s screen and it will explain it to you.

Apple is already looking ahead with iOS 18.2, dropping its first developer beta before iOS 18.1 even hits the public. Siri is getting a serious upgrade with built-in ChatGPT capabilities, opening up exciting new ways of interacting with your device.

Whether you’re scrolling through Instagram or watching a video, you could say something like, “Where is this place?” or “What’s in this photo?” Siri will snap a screenshot, get your permission to share it with ChatGPT, and you’ll get an answer.

This feature is a game-changer, especially for those who don’t have an iPhone 16, which comes with its own Visual Intelligence feature. Visual Intelligence allows you to tap a camera control button to get details about what your phone sees, leveraging a mix of Apple Intelligence, ChatGPT, and even Google for answers.

For iPhone 15 Pro users or compatible iPads, there’s an easy workaround: just take a photo and ask Siri and ChatGPT to analyze it. It’s super handy for getting quick info without searching yourself.

And Apple isn’t stopping there. They’re also cooking up their own on-device screen awareness feature, powered by Apple Intelligence models. This will allow Siri to process and act on what’s on your screen without sending data off-device. This could roll out in a future iOS 18 update, likely sometime next year.
