iOS 18.2 RC / Final Version Release Date, Where Is It?

Looking for iOS 18.2 RC or final version release date? Here’s what you need to know about it.

As you may already know by now, Apple is expected to roll out iOS 18.2 final version to public this month. Previous rumors had it coming on December 9, which is next week at the time of this writing.

So where does that leave the RC version? If final version of iOS 18.2 is indeed coming on December 9, Monday, then Apple should have released RC version to developers by now. The fact they haven’t done it means they are running behind schedule on it, likely due to Thanksgiving weekend coming in-between all this last week.

It now seems like Apple will release RC version of iOS 18.2 next week, followed by a final public version a few days after RC version is seeded. This makes final public version of iOS 18.2 coming on Monday, December 9 unlikely at this point.

If you have been living under a rock and don’t know much about iOS 18.2, this release brings second-wave of Apple Intelligence features to iPhone users. The second-wave includes features like Visual Intelligence for iPhone 16 series, ChatGPT integration, as well as Image Playground, Genmoji and Image Wand, along with more enhancements to Siri.

Prior to iOS 18.2, Apple brought first-wave of Apple Intelligence features with iOS 18.1 which includes features like new Siri animation, Writing Tools, notification summaries, and more. Apple initially promised Apple Intelligence as part of iOS 18.0 release but later delayed it into staged rollout in the form of iOS 18.1, iOS 18.2 and iOS 18.3.

Coming back to iOS 18.2 release, Apple could of course skip RC version altogether and release iOS 18.2 to public directly but that scenario seems unlikely at this point. If anything changes or if we get to know more about iOS 18.2, we will of course be back with more details on it. Stay tuned for more on this space.
